Summers-Taylor began building roads and highways and working with departments of transportation in the 1940s and is considered an industry leader in this area. Licensed in Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina, we handle multiple road and highway projects annually, with costs ranging from as little as a few hundred thousand dollars up to $28 million for major highway ventures.
With our vast experience and computerized internal efficiencies, we provide estimates at the best possible prices for an array of government, paving, bridge, and earthmoving projects. We are able to build the most complicated projects “turn-key,” from clearing to striping the pavement and all phases in between. In addition, we’re recognized for our on-time delivery; ability to work with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies; and integration of “green” technologies.
We have 500 employees and a fleet of more than 250 trucks to efficiently complete any highway job.
Summers-Taylor’s outstanding work has been recognized by the National Asphalt and Paving Association with three NAPA Quality in Construction awards. We are also recipients of eight statewide awards, including being the inaugural regional winner of the State of Tennessee Highway Quality Award and a seven-time winner of the Smooth Paving Award bestowed annually by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
